PEACE AND STABILITY

It is your right for no one to take.

You can only control yourself, few facts are truer than this one.  There is no greater power we each have than to control our own movement in space.  You and you alone can utter a word out of your mouth, no one can ever do it for you.  Only you can tend to your body and keep it alive.  In every moment you feed your body, give it water, lay it down to rest, you, and you alone are in charge of your health and balance.  No one can ever stop you from being kind and soothing to yourself- not traffic, not angry people, not rude coworkers.  Make your emotional reactions work to your advantage.  Stressful, agitated reactions only serve to weaken your cardiac health and breed inflammation, does this thing or person deserve to take your years of life or throw off your balance?  No one on earth can stop you from exuding calm, it is your ultimate power and inalienable right- to soothe your soul with kind words to yourself, rest, healthy food, water, and movement.

SADNESS, TENSION, WORRIES

You're not alone, not by a long shot

OH WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD

Don't let the world's music and beauty go gray.

Rapidly changing, brilliant colors, 'blue screen light' shining in our eyes all day, fast-moving shapes and manufactured sounds- no wonder we don't spend enough time in nature as a species.  Compared to a youtube clip or an emotionally interactive video game, nature simply isn't as stimulating, especially if your brain developed under the harsh blue light of a screen.

Be conscious, live a conscious day today and find the stunning beauty of our world behind the screen- the beautiful music of a forest or pond, or even the dynamic sounds of a crowd in a restaurant.

Let your loved ones know where you're going and when you'll be back, and then shut down your phone, TV, computer and video game for the entire day.  No directions, Facebook, texting, news stories, funny videos...not for the entire day.  Take a drive to an unknown nature spot or walk a route you haven't gone before.  Open your ears, eyes, and nose and take in your world in every sense.  When you feel a breeze, intensely watch the leaves quiver and listen for their rustle.  Stand in front of a pond and watch the water surface dance and listen for all the different species that live a full life right here in the pond.

Be conscious of how quickly you feel restless or disinterested in our stunning, natural habitat.  Persevere, do not return to the world of screens for the entire day.  Read or write before bed.  Practice your reimmersion into nature and departure from screens.  Peace and joy will find you again.
